I have been looking for months for a pair of boots that are retro looking. These were exactly what i was looking for. The only problem is that they are unlined,,,that is probably why the other review stated that they are so hot. Because they are not lined, they are kind of squeaky when you walk. Oh well,,,they still look really cute

I used to wear heavy leather hiking boots. Not any more. I always heard that shoe weight was important, but never realized how important until I did my run in heavy boots! It wore me out! So I looked for the lightest goretex boots I could find, and this is the boot I bought. I just got back from hiking the Sierras, including a two day trip to the top of Mount Whitney with a 35 pound pack. The trails are pretty rough, and it rained for a few hours one day. These boots held up well, kept my feet dry, and never once caused a blister or hot spot anywhere on my feet. OK, so these boots are downright ugly. But they are great boots!

These jeans fit me perfectly. The slight stretch allows me to wear them comfortably while riding my bicycle to the university. Then I look great all day. I like the way they ride just a little low off my waist. Then I can get a good fit through my hips and thighs and not have them pinch me in my waist.

I have these in black (the double harness style) and now the olive, which is a color I wear 50% of the time. The color is perfect. Buy a half size down since they run large. They are great quality and I find them quite comfortable.

Customer Review: Best boots ever
I have had these boots for 5 years now (I have them in both black and brown) and they still fit and feel great. I have had them each resoled once. The leather is soft but durable, and wears well. They sort of have a cowboy rugged feel, but still enough style to wear them with a skirt. I read the review about the wide calf area. I didn’t find this at all (I don’t think I have big calves (I weigh 120) but who knows. I find they are one of the few boots that fit well under a tighter boot cut jean. They are not “snug” around the calf, but the boots don’t “show” or “snag” (meaning there is enough room to wear under (not tucked in) a pair of jeans (or at least the ones I wear). I still get compliments on these kickers. Gotta love that. FRYE makes a great shoe.
