I bought this because I received a gift card for Christmas 2006 from my then Fiancee’s mother. I thought it would be a more appropriate ‘gift’ than a computer game. I did not expect it to be as handy as it has been. I’ve used it very frequently since buying it. I’ve carried it around nearly every day since buying it, and most days I use it. The days I’ve forgotten it I notice it is missing.

this knife is bigger than it appears in the pictures, but that being said, it is still pocket friendly, although some might think its not,i will admit that it does weigh you down and that it takes time to get used to carrying it if you’re not used to carrying heavy objects in your pocket.

A work of art in metal. Elegant in a classic, understated way. This knife in sterling silver, hammered finish, replaces a traditional red plastic sided knife just like it I’ve carried for 25 years. I couldn’t wear it out, but I always wanted one in sterling. Service from Amazon was great. I jacked around with eBay for 3 or 4 days bidding on used ones and losing the bids at the last min to someone who thinks eBay bidding is a sport. Then I noticed I could buy a brand new one from Amazon for less than the used ones were bringing on eBay. Duh!
By the way, the one in sterling I bought doesn’t have the tweezers and tooth pick…just the knife blade, nail file, and scissors. There was an insert that came with the knife that says the silver work was hand made by Lund Silversmiths. I Googled Lund on the web and their products are sold in places like Neiman-Marcus, but no knives are shown. I’m very pleased with the knife.

The Spartan is one of the basic Swiss Army Knife models. It has the can opener/phillips, bottle opener/flathead screwdriver/prybar, large blade, small blade, awl, corkscrew, toothpick and tweezers. All the basics for a compact knife that is carried easily - I prefer Spartan-size SAKs, which have 2 layers of tools, for pocket carry. The translucent scales look great.
