This sewing machine is fine for my purpose in buying it - a lightweight machine to use for small sewing tasks when visiting my father. I need to repair seams, re-hem, other little jobs that I have been doing by hand on my visits. I don’t think I’d try to make a whole new garment - the machine is very light (which was the point for me in buying it) and a little rickety, but for an experienced seamstress it’s usable and useful for repair jobs.

This is not a very good machine. It is a plastic waste. The only thing this can sew is cotton material. I would not recommend it to any one.

Customer Review: Best lens that any photographer should have!
I had just gotten into photography, my Nikon D90 is the first DSLR I have ever owned, and this is my first lens I purchased; although I have used a variety of other lenses including the 85mm, 105mm, and the 135mm. Maybe I am new to photography, but I find the 50mm easiest to use. I say this because I was used to my point and shoot, where I see an object, I can just bring the camera up to my eyes and take a picture. With the longer focal length lenses, I had to move much farther away. I know the “pros” reading this must be cringing, thinking that I should know which lens to use depending on how far away the object I’m trying to shoot is. Since I am just getting started, I am still trying to learn. I believe the 50mm is the same focal length as our eyes, so it is far more intuitive for a beginner like me. Since this lens is f/1.8, I can take some great sharp images even in a dark room, which I am very pleased with. For the price, this is the best lens anyone can get, and is a must for all beginners like myself to learn what type of photos you are most interested in, then buy more expensive lenses that will suit your needs.
In the beginning, I was deciding between this lens and the 1.4G, but I eventually decided on this one because of the price, since I eventually plan to buy the Nikon 105mm micro lens. I have never tried the f1.4 lens, so I cannot make a comparison, but I am 100% happy with my choice because I have gotten some great pictures in the worst light conditions that I would ever take photos in. Since this is a small and light lens, there is really no need for VR. I have naturally shaky hands, but due to the aperture and the D90’s wonderful low noise level even at iso 3200, I have still been able to keep the exposure fast enough to create sharp images. I think this lens is perfectly fine for taking no-flash images under museum lighting. So go out and get yourself this lens!! Plus, I heard all Nikon products will have a price increase of 2% or something by early next year, so I encourage you act fast :)

Doesn’t autofocus on d40 or d40x but all other cameras for nikon it works with. A must have in ur bag if you are a serious photographer. I don’t go anywhere without it. Ideal for portraits and low light settings.

Customer Review: Not bad for the price
There are some things I really like about this clock, and some things that really annoy me.

First the annoying things:
1) The *#&% scroll wheels. MESSAGE TO ALL MANUFACTURERS: Just because Apple has a scroll wheel doesn’t mean you have to as well. They are not the be all and end all of UI devices. They work for the iPod because you hold it in your hand and you can navigate with your thumb. For an alarm clock this is not the case and (at least for me) they tend to be clunky and difficult to use. I would have gotten a clock without them, but I couldn’t find one in my price range that also had good reviews.

2) The Backlight. I actually saw this issue in another review and bought the clock anyway. The problem is that the backlight is either on or it’s off. Though there are ostensibly three dimmer modes, they do absolutely nothing that I can tell. When it’s on, it’s brighter than your desk lamp, and when it’s off you can’t see the screen in the dark. I keep it off, but then if I want to know what time it is in the middle of the night, I have to reach over to the clock and hit the dimmer switch.

3)The alarm volume is the same as the music volume. This is annoying if I want to listen to music as I go to sleep because when I’m trying to sleep I want the music quiet, but unless I somehow turn up the volume in my sleep, the alarm will be just as quiet in the morning. Pretty poor design, there.

Things I like:
1) There’s a power button. I was really stoked when I saw this because my old iPod clock had absolutely no way to turn off the iPod/Radio/Aux Jack short of hitting the sleep button until the sleep timer hit zero.

2) With the volume up the alarm is loud. Really loud. I don’t know if my neighbors appreciate that as much as I do, but at least it wakes me up in the morning. Most of the time.

3) There’s a nap function. Enough said.

4) It does what it’s supposed to and does it reasonably well. The sound is good, and I can hear it from across my apartment if I want to listen to podcasts while I do housework.

Overall, I’m happy with this iPod dock alarm clock. It works with a minimum of fuss, and for it’s price it’s a pretty good piece of equipment.

I’m not an expert sewer. “Good” is even pushing it - so I need a lot of help. I really like the auto threader and one-step buttonholes. For practice, I have a trunk load of patterns, fabrics and husband’s old shirts (or at least I tell him they’re old) - for that this machine is quite easy and fun to use.

I bought this Brother machine to replace an old Singer machine that wore out it’s gears. The Brother CE-5000 is a great machine. We bought it refurbished and it looks new. Works great; really can’t say anything bad about it.

However, one advantage is also a disadvantage if you are used to an older, and heavier machine. The Brother is lightweight and easy to move around, store, etc … a good thing. It also doesn’t stay put when you are wrestling heavy materials around to get it in position to sew. This takes some getting used to. The old machine was built into a table so I may have to build a platform to hold this machine in place. We recommend it as a good machine.

I purchased this battery from a Amazon network supplier. The part number was identical. I received the battery only 4 days after I ordered it. I thought this was very fast service considering shipping was free. The part number and the wattage are the same as a Duracell Battery that was at Walmart. The battery at Walmart was $44. This battery works fine in my Canon SD1100 camera which is what I bought it for. A full battery charge last just as long as the battery that came with my camera. The camera also works great by the way.

The item description is very accurate. If you want a dual alarm clock radio similar to those from 10 years ago, that is exactly what you will get and that is why I ordered it. Nothing fancy, just basic but with the Sony dependability. There are a few nice things though - the time is preset, options for the dual alarms sound, adjustable brightness, battery backup, very easy to operate and the AM radio actually works well, unlike other clock radios. This clock radio has no frills but for the price, it is good and dependable.

This is touted as an AM/FM radio clock. The clock portion appears to work well, however, if you select radio there is nothing on the display to tell you to what station you are listening. I am extremely sorry that I bought this item.
Customer Review: Same problem as others - LCD burns out
I took a chance and bought this, even after reading some of the other negative reviews. I take great care of my electronics, so I thought maybe I wouldn’t have any problems. Multiple parts of the LCD display have burnt out over a little more than a year’s time. At first, I just ignored it, but now it’s beyond frustrating. I called RCA (and it’s very hard to find a phone number for them), and they have terrible customer service. They are not willing to help me at all because it’s been over a year since I purchased the clock.

Buyer beware.

I am unsure if their is even a difference in the two products;
Smart stitch (what i received) & Handy stitch (what I ordered) but, I will tell you that the Smart Stitch does not stitch very well at all. There is not enough room between the needle & the “bottom” of the smart stitch to fit an article of clothing in to stitch. Once you find something to fit in between the needle, it will begin to sew (very loudly, as opposed to the Handy stitch that seemed very quiet on TV) & create a preferated line in the article of clothing. All in all, you get what you pay for, well actually not, you get the generic. Welcome to online shopping & Amazon.
